Why "The Hungry Dodo"?
I enjoy a fine meal as much as the next mammal, and as a newly relocated omnivore on the beautiful island of Mauritius, a Dodo reference seemed apt, though hopefully not distasteful.

Why Mauritius?
In 2015 I completed a Post Graduate Diploma run by Durrell and the University of Kent, with an aim to completely change my career to conservation management. The course was run entirely in Mauritius in order to capitalise on the excellent work done by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation (MWF) and the many years spent here by Durrell.

Why the career change?
After a good many years working in finance, I decided to apply my skills to something I am particularly interested in. Although having a swish career and a comfortable life in London sounds appealing to most, for me it started to feel claustrophobic and as if I was being held back. I may still make some foray back into the world of business, as I know it's where my strengths are put to use the most, but for the time being I'm putting everything I have into conservation. Carving out my own niche in the saving of rare species would be an ultimately rewarding thing to achieve.
